RI Political Party Golkar Finally United after Internal
Tumult

Indonesian government political spectrum had
been undergoing a
particularly concerning internal issue which resulted in the divided
contingents, one under Aburizal Bakrie (Ical) and the other one under Agung
Laksono.
Head of Golkar transition team who now also assumes
role as the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla recently
announced that the two has finally come to terms with one another and glorified
over the notion of unification.
He claims to have
been setting up a meeting between previously rivaled Aburizal Bakrie and Agung
Laksono, where the two were mediated into talking out their problems and seek
strategies to address such as to attain reconciliation among the initially
divided faction within Golkar party.
“We have to prepare a Golkar that is one, that is not
divided internally. We are a senior party among others, so must put consideration only to matters that
are important. We have to solidify and maintain coordination between central
and regional,” Vice President Jusuf Kalla said in his residence, Jakarta,
Wednesday (3/2/2016).
The meeting commenced at 08.00 am. The one hour long
meeting also includes Vice President Jusuf Kalla official reminder that the
national conference (Munas) for Golkar party which will
be considered as legitimate is the one held in Riau, not the disparately
done one by the initially separated factions last time in Bali and Ancol.
“In accordance to the decision made by the Ministry of
Legal and Human Rights Affairs, which is based on the premise given by the High
Court, national conference in Riau is to be considered as the one legitimate
enough to name Aburizal Bakrie as the head of Golkar party and Agung Laksono as
the vice deputy of such senior political party,”Jusuf Kalla further explained.
“I would like to express my
appreciation towards Mr. Jusuf Kalla for his willingness to not just
concentrate on issues faced by this nation but also to the senior organization
which had always existed since the country’s inception. We all share similar
ambition of consolidating with one another,” Golkar Vice Deputy Agung Laksono
stated.
